At 3-1-5, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for everyone. Our goal is to ensure that all users, especially women and girls, can exercise and pursue their fitness goals confidently and without fear of harassment or intimidation.

This Code of Conduct is part of our commitment to the Safer Spaces to Move initiative, created in partnership with ukactive, Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign, and other experts in the field. By adhering to these guidelines, you contribute to making our gym a space where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and respected.

  1. Respect for All
  • Create a Supportive Atmosphere: Treat every individual with respect, kindness, and understanding. Foster a supportive environment where everyone feels safe and encouraged to participate, regardless of their background, fitness level, or gender.
  • Inclusion and Equality: We embrace diversity and aim to create an inclusive space where all members, including women and girls, feel empowered to move, train, and achieve their fitness goals.
  1. Zero Tolerance for Harassment
  • Harassment-Free Zone: Harassment, bullying, or any form of intimidation based on gender, appearance, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited. This includes verbal, physical, and sexual harassment.
  • Be Mindful of Personal Boundaries: Respect each other’s personal space and boundaries. If someone expresses discomfort, immediately respect their wishes and adjust your behavior accordingly.
  • Safe Reporting: If you witness or experience any form of harassment or inappropriate behaviour, please report it immediately to gym staff or use our confidential reporting system. We take all reports seriously and will act swiftly to address any concerns.
  1. Confidentiality and Support
  • Encourage Open Communication: Everyone should feel comfortable speaking up when something doesn’t feel right. Our staff are here to listen, support, and handle any concerns with confidentiality and care.
  • Support Available: If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable in any part of the gym, please approach any staff member. We are here to help, provide guidance, and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  1. Create a Positive and Encouraging Environment
  • Empathy and Encouragement: Always offer encouragement to others, especially beginners or those who may feel unsure. Help create an atmosphere where people feel motivated to be their best without fear of judgment or criticism.
  • Celebrate Achievements: Whether big or small, personal progress should be celebrated. We are all on different journeys, and every achievement deserves acknowledgment.
  1. Safe and Responsible Use of Equipment
  • Proper Equipment Use: Always use gym equipment as intended, and ensure that it is returned to its correct place after use. If you need assistance with any equipment, please ask a staff member.
  • Cleanliness: Be responsible for your personal hygiene and ensure you wipe down equipment after use with the provided cleaning materials. This helps maintain a clean and hygienic environment for everyone.
  1. Respect for Personal Space and Privacy
  • Mindful of Others: Be considerate of the personal space of others when using equipment or exercising. Avoid excessive noise, particularly when lifting weights or engaging in high-intensity activities.
  • Photography and Filming: To respect the privacy of all members, please refrain from taking photos or videos of others without permission. If you wish to document your workout, be sure to do so in a manner that does not disturb or intrude on others. Cameras, Phones and Ipads / tablets are forbidden on poolside and in changing areas – no photographs / recording are permitted in these areas.
  1. Safe Training Practices
  • Ask for Help When Needed: If you’re unsure how to use equipment or how to perform an exercise safely, ask a qualified staff member or trainer for assistance.
  • Fitness Classes: If you’re participating in a group fitness class, ensure that your behaviour is respectful to both the instructor and fellow participants. Avoid disruptive actions and help maintain a positive group atmosphere.
  • Equipment: Fitness equipment is laid out to promote a positive and inclusive environment, equipment that may place people in a position whereby they feel vulnerable e.g. hip thrust machines are placed facing walls not out on to the gym floor.
  1. Safe Changing Spaces
  • Female Only Changing: Female changing areas are available to be accessed by those assigned female at birth or post operative trans females.
  • Child Changing: Children under the age of 8 of both sexes may enter the female only changing areas
  • Dual Access Changing: There is a dual access shower area available for users that require a carer of the opposite sex or pre-operative trans females.
  1. Confidentiality and Privacy
  • Respect for Privacy: Any personal information you overhear about other members or staff should be respected. Keep conversations private and respectful, especially in shared spaces like changing rooms or lounges.
  1. Follow Staff Guidance
  • Staff as Support: Our gym staff are here to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being. Please listen to their instructions and cooperate when asked to follow gym rules or safety protocols.
  • Report Concerns: If you have any concerns regarding the safety or behaviour of others, please speak to a staff member. We take these issues seriously and will take the necessary steps to resolve any situation.
  1. Be Part of a Positive Movement
  • Support Women and Girls in Fitness: As part of our commitment to the Safer Spaces to Move initiative, we encourage everyone to support women and girls in the gym. This includes being mindful of the barriers they may face in feeling confident or safe.
  • Participate in Workshops and Initiatives: We encourage you to get involved in any programs or events aimed at promoting a safe, inclusive space. This could include training sessions, safety workshops, or awareness campaigns.

By following this Code of Conduct, you are actively helping to create a club that is welcoming, inclusive, and safe for all. We are committed to ensuring that everyone, especially women and girls, can participate in fitness activities without fear of intimidation, harassment, or discomfort.
