In 2013 the group acquired a former Total Fitness site in Lancaster, and after a huge refurbishment successfully launched 3-1-5 Health Club. 3-1-5 is the most unique and progressive club in the UK, showcasing the revolutionary X-Force Machines and Training Concept.
‘We are contributing positively to the health and wellbeing of the community by encouraging the people of Lancaster to get more active, more often. By delivering our vision of ‘positively changing people’s lives’ we create an experience that helps people get the most out of their lives and inspire them to become their best’.
Sarah has a Dance / Entertainments background and spent many years travelling the high seas as a Dancer and Show Manager and finally an Assistant Cruise Director. In 2015, Sarah became Sean’s Personal Assistant at 3-1-5. As well as first-hand support to the Director, Sarah looks after the Club’s Marketing and HR as well as project managing some of the larger events at the club, such as National Fitness Day and the Annual member parties.
Sarah loves to stay active and as well as long beach walks and skiing. Sarah currently instructs both ‘Fitsteps’, ‘Fitsteps FAB’ and ‘Fitsteps Tone’ classes as well as organising and participating in many MYZONE challenges for the members of 3-1-5.
Deena is the Club Manager after completing her first 7 years as Membership Concierge Manger for 3-1-5, and is part of the original crew from the clubs opening in 2013. ‘I have a really exciting job that is different almost every day and I look after a whole host of areas within the Club including memberships, sales and events to name a few.
I have real love of fitness, from competing in athletics competitions, football and rounders at schoo,l to watching pretty much every sport there is on TV. I live for the Olympic years and can’t bear to miss watching my favourite Cherry & Whites smashing it on the Rugby pitch.
I am always up for doing crazy challenges, in the past I have done triathlons, mud runs, 1/2 marathons, Keswick to Barrow walks, ridiculously long swims in Windermere. I also completed a London to Paris bike ride and the Bournemouth Marathon’!
‘Today is the chance to change yourself for the better, just do it!’
This is Sandie’s favourite quote and those of you who have been lucky enough to train with Sandie will understand how motivating this can be.
It’s never too late to change…the best investment you can ever make is in your own health and wellbeing. With over 25 years in the industry and expertise in special populations, Sandie is here to guide and assist you with your healthy lifestyle programme, offering one-to-ones, small group training and classes for all ages and abilities to build a better YOU.
Remember, exercise is the new wonder drug of the future; USE IT OR LOSE IT.
When not at the Club, you’ll find Sandie walking along the prom with her dog and soaking up the scenery.
Marian is the Group Fitness Manager at 3-1-5 and is also part of the original team who began with the organisation when its doors opened in May 2013.
Marian’s passion for Group Exercise began whilst she was training to become a professional dancer and as part of Marian’s responsibilities she instructs regular classes including Body Balance, Spinning and Body Pump.
Her experience has led her into various challenges and opportunities, all complementing one another, to provide her with the skills and knowledge to deliver a one-of-a-kind Group Exercise Programme that reflects her personal philosophy, which is – ‘To inspire and motivate people to change their lives for the better’.
Lauren is the Assistant Swim School Manager at 3-1-5 and assists with everything ‘Stingray’. Lauren assists with the Swim School and also helps coordinate poolside activities to ensure we deliver the very best, inventive and fresh programming in the industry.

KJ is an original of 3-1-5, living and breathing the industry since she could walk, competing at a National Level in Swimming and achieving a Sports Development Degree as a stepping stone into her career.
The word ‘Inspire’ is prominent for KJ in her personal and work life. There’s no higher bar than the one that she sets, and you can see this here at 3-1-5 through the growth and execution of our fitness team performance delivered in programmes, classes and personal training alongside our flourishing Stingray Swim School, changing the movement of swimming lessons and paving a new way within the industry.
“I cannot sit still in life, always looking for the next challenge, the next development, how I personally and we as a company can do better each and every single day. Working and motivating individuals to help them succeed within their roles, crashing down barriers and overcoming any obstacles we may face”.
I believe that when a child is swimming, the current practice should always direct us on how to proceed with the next, and that swimming lessons should always be child-led, whilst still respecting the water and building a positive relationship with it.
I have been in the water since I was 2 years old, being part of swimming and water polo teams. I have a massive love for the water, and I have a huge passion for that love for the water to be seen and explored by all children for themselves.
I have experience with Baby and Preschool lessons, school-aged lessons, and adult lessons, and I love seeing the magic in each person come out when what they’re learning starts to make sense, no matter their age or stage.
I joined 3-1-5 on the Front Of House team in 2019. My background in dancing and cheerleading means I’ve always been passionate about fitness and being part of a team. The atmosphere of 3-1-5 being a family run business and so positive and supportive appealed to me straight away, I knew this was where I wanted to be!
Almost 2 years later, I have now moved over to the Gym Team having completed my Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Les Mills Body Pump qualifications. I am currently working on my Level 3 Personal Training qualification.
I would never have achieved this without 3-1-5 and I feel so lucky everyday for these opportunities. I hope I can use my own personal experiences and developments to inspire and encourage our members.
The health and fitness industry has completely changed my life and I hope that I can share that passion through my work and coaching.”

Why are you a SWEAT PTI?
SWEAT classes are like nothing else in the Bay area. As a SWEAT PTI, no 2 classes are exactly the same; the lighting contrasting with the darkness and the music gives it a unique immersive experience like no other group training.
The cool and unique vibe, created at the beginning of a session when the door is closed, sets everyone up to let go of their daily lives and push themselves to their limits within 45 minutes!
I love the motivation the MyZone belts give and seeing those red zones appear on the screens!
Week after week I see progression and physical transformations, the squaddies give 100% every session!
What advise would you give to someone who was thinking about trying SWEAT?
It’s not for fit people, it’s for people who want to get fit….You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!
Favourite SWEAT session: Box SWEAT
Favourite season: Summer
Why are you a SWEAT PTI?
I am a SWEAT PTI to create a bigger impact on the health and well-being of the local community through fitness.
What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about trying SWEAT?
The heaviest weights you can lift are your trainers, so making that forest step is massive! I know it’s scary going into the unknown, but each workout is made to fit every individual! Talk to the instructor, after all we are human.
Favourite SWEAT session: Operation SWEAT
Favourite season: Winter because who doesn’t like Christmas
Why are you a SWEAT PTI?
I absolutely love it! I’m passionate about delivering fun, high-energy workouts that inspire and encourage people. Sweat encompasses everything I love in one workout, the lively atmosphere, great music and fun lighting create a euphoric environment for training.
What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about trying SWEAT?
Stop thinking and take the leap. If you push yourself out of your comfort zone, imagine what you could achieve. SWEAT has a beautiful balance of guided workout whilst maintaining that element of freedom, it’s an individual workout in a group setting, we are here to support you to achieve your full potential.
Favourite SWEAT session: Saturday Morning Total Sweat; what better way to start the weekend than with top tunes and a full body blast?
Favourite season: SUMMER, warm weather, BBQs, outdoor adventures, embracing nature with blue skies and vibrant flowers!
Why are you a SWEAT PTI?
I love helping people push themselves and progress.
If you are thinking about trying sweat, I would say just do it. It’s only you working at your level in a group of people doing exactly the same. Speak to the PTI about any worries you have, and they will work with those worries to make your experience the best it can be. There is nothing better than the feeling of accomplishment once the session is done. Give it a go !
Favourite SWEAT session: Box Sweat, there is something very cathartic about hitting the bag.
Favourite season: Autumn. A crisp autumn day is so beautiful and fresh.
Why are you a SWEAT PTI?
I’m a Sweat PTI because I absolutely love what I do. I love the energy the Sweat Studio brings, and I love how hard the squaddies push themselves in every single session. There is no other environment like it around this area, and it is something that has to be experienced.
What advise would you give to someone who was thinking about trying SWEAT?
For anyone who is wanting to try Sweat my advice would be give it a go myself and the other PTI’s are on hand every single session to help you and guide you, if there is anything you are unsure of or can not do we can change it for you. It is your individual workout in a group setting. You push as hard as you can when you can, and we will support you every step of the way and celebrate every win with you.

I also want to ensure that my sessions are fun and varied and feel as though I am approachable for someone to speak to if they have any questions! SWEAT is the class to do this!
What advice would you give to someone who was thinking about trying SWEAT?
The advice I would give to someone thinking about trying SWEAT would be to not doubt your ability/fitness levels! SWEAT is an individual workout in a grouped environment where you will be given an induction on your first session with the instructor and once you are in that room you feel as though you could be exercising anywhere in the world with an amazing lighting and music system! Once you SWEAT, you won’t regret! Take that step!

I was inspired to become a group exercise instructor by someone who used to teach me in class. Her enthusiasm and knowledge were infectious, and I wanted more. Her belief in me gave me the courage to follow my dream and go for it. I was thinking about what to do, but I bit the bullet….. I thought I’d try, and if I failed… well, at least I could say I tried it. It was the hardest thing but the most rewarding career move I’ve ever made. I couldn’t imagine now doing anything else.
Exercise isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling good, physically and mentally strong. I love feeling energised, which in turn helps me to be optimistic, confident, and in control—this is why I do what I do. Our mind needs training, too. It needs to be cleared and reset. Group exercise does this for me, and hopefully, you too.
One of my favourite quotes is:
The 3 ‘C’s of Life:
You must make a CHOICE to take a CHANCE, or your life will never CHANGE.
Some people may think they aren’t fit enough for group exercise or worry about getting a personal trainer because they are out of shape, but everyone starts somewhere, so don’t put it off any longer. I support, listen and encourage everyone I train, and I am there for them in class and messages 24/7!
To relax, I love being by the sea and feel lucky I live so close to the coast…it’s obviously even better when I’m by the Mediterranean eating the wonderful food, too!
Spin classes are all the next, and of course, I Like to use the Spin bikes, but I also like rowing machines and 3-1-5 weight equipment.
Spin classes are available all week long. If you’re looking for increased health benefits and good music in an eclectic taste, try it. All classes offer a different vibe, but all are great for your heart, legs and butt!!
